About Us

SOF-Segun Obayendo Foundation is a Non-governmental Organization registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria. Fired up by the level of divisions in Nigeria and the urgent need to really eulogize the unity in diversity claims, we resolved to make Nigeria one of the most united and peaceful countries of the world by promoting the initiative of a common language to break the language barrier that has negatively impacted our unity from the get-go. The Foundation believes in the capacity and strong will of Nigerians to have a society living in peace and harmony. As true Nigerians, we should be able to communicate in the three major (Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa) languages. The foundation will engage the services of Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa teachers across the country to deliver on this extraordinary linguistic empowerment.

Our Mission

Our mission is to break the barrier to unity among Nigerians which is not tribal or religion, rather our inability to embrace a common language and cultural orientation; this in our reckoning is the missing link in our struggle for the actualization of unity in diversity. We are committed to a cause that will bring Nigeria under an umbrella of a unified (common) indigenous language of communication as a country, to engender national integration, a society that is egalitarian (where everyone is equal), joining forces to achieve a united and progressive Nigeria.

To build a new generation of Nigerians, united with a common language and a sense of oneness irrespective of tribe or religion

Targeted Group

Our targeted group includes, primary and secondary school pupils, undergraduate students, the Nigeria police, the military and paramilitary, National Youth Service Corps and the general public.
